Retrofit from dry to central mix plant
The Need
At Boston Sand and Gravel, Massachusetts the challenge was to
increase production and retrofit an existing plant located right in the middle of the city in order
to gain maximum capacity for 24 hour batching for the BIG DIG, while retaining many of the older
facilities.
BMH Solution
The original dry loading bay and weigh hopper were
preserved; additional cement storage, high-speed conveyors and a 12 yd³ reversing drum
mixer were added.
